“All the weapons and grenades seized in the recent operations carried out by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) come from North America,” reported the sectoral vice president of Defense and Sovereignty, General in Chief Vladimir Padrino López.
Padrino López questioned the role of the United States (USA) in this action by pointing out: “What is happening in the United States? That one of the biggest businesses, apart from drug trafficking, is precisely arms trafficking. Why do these weapons reach other latitudes, not to mention other continents? Where do they come from? Who manufactures them? What interests are there in illegal arms trafficking? Who is interested? that? To arm who, terrorists, drug trafficking gangs to destabilize governments? It is a matter that must be studied,” he insisted.

Likewise, he highlighted that the FANB’s Weapons and Explosives Directorate receives daily reports on the seized material, indicating that “95% are of North American origin, as are the ammunition.” At the same time, it warns that the illegal entry of this type of weapons into the country has specific purposes.
“The illegal trafficking of weapons and everything that has tried to enter Venezuelan territory has a predestined purpose: to cause destabilization, terrorism, murders and anxiety in the people of Venezuela,” said the also Minister of Popular Power for Defense.
