Reforma Brasil resources are guaranteed, says Minister of Cities

The Minister of Cities, Jader Filho, said this Tuesday (21) that the resources of the Reforma Brasil program, launched by the government, are guaranteed. According to him, none of his portfolio’s public programs and policies will be harmed due to federal government budget blockages, such as the R$12 billion blockage that occurred at the beginning of the month.Reforma Brasil resources are guaranteed, says Minister of Cities

“None of the works, neither Minha Casa Minha Vida, nor Reforma Brasil nor infrastructure, mobility or sanitation, will be affected by the budget cuts. President Lula’s determination is that there will be no work stopped, because stopped work is a loss,” he said.

In an interview with the program Good morning, Ministerproduced by Brazilian Communication Company (EBC), Jader Filho stated that through the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program alone, around 30 thousand families have already signed contracts across the country. “Today we have 1.1 million houses under construction, generating jobs and income.”

In the interview, the minister once again detailed what the Reforma Brasil program will be like, which intends to grant credit starting at R$5,000, for renovations, expansions and adjustments to homes.

According to the Ministry of Cities, R$40 billion in credits are planned exclusively for this program.

Houses

Reforma Brasil initially serves residents of urban areas in capitals, municipalities with more than 300 thousand inhabitants or that are part of population arrangements of this size. The credit is mainly aimed at residential use, but can include mixed-use properties.

Interest rates vary depending on the families’ monthly income range. In bracket 1, interest is 1.17% for those with income of up to R$3,200. For those earning between R$3,200 and R$9,600, interest is 1.95%.

For those with an income above R$9,600, the rules apply to Caixa, with financing amounts starting at R$30,000 and payment terms of up to 180 months.

Simplified process

The financing granting operation will be simplified and digital, starting with the website from Caixa or the bank’s app, from November 3rd.

The financing request will be made operational via a specific website that will be available from this Tuesday (21).

The beneficiary will need to prove that the work has been carried out. The person will present what work they want to do in their home and take a photo. Credit for 90% of the total is released. After the progress of the work has been proven, through images of improvements to the property, the remaining 10% is released.
