Petroperú unions reject the dismissal of Alejandro Narváez

Through a statement, the National Coalition of Petroperú Unions rejected the dismissal of Alejandro Narváez, describing it as “express” and without technical explanation.

They criticized the measure taken, pointing out that the act carried out by the General Shareholders’ Meeting violates the Law under the direction of the Minister of Energy, Luis Bravo, and the Minister of Economy, which they accuse of responding to “privatizing interests linked to the Popular Christian Party.”

According to the coalition, the formal Procedure for the dismissal or change of the Chairman of the board of directors of the entity has not been complied with, pointing out that this requires an express call for a General Meeting, an agenda including the item “removal or appointment of the chairman of the board of directors”, voting in accordance with a quorum, drafting and signing of the minutes and, finally, registration with Sunarp.

In that sense, they denounced Premier Ernesto Álvarez for “having given the directives for the dismissal of Narváez and promoting the privatization process of Petroperú.”

They also demanded that Narváez be reinstated in the position of president of the entity’s Board of Directors, as well as recognition of the “historical debt that the State maintains with Petroperú.”

They also accused the existence of corrupt officials and lobbyists, for whom they demanded “civil death.”
