Rodrigo Paz On the afternoon of October 20, he had a video call with Maria Corina Machadoleader of the opposition, whom he gave his support in his fight to achieve change in Venezuela and invited him to take office on November 8.
At the beginning of the conversation, the new Bolivian president congratulated the Venezuelan opponent for the Nobel Peace Prize she received on October 10. “You have dignified all Bolivians, all South Americans and world democracy. Thank you, thank you because it strengthens everyone’s fighting spirit and above all in a town that I love as my own, because I lived in Venezuela for about a year, a year and a half in various exiles. Venezuela was my home,” he said.
The conversation between María Corina Machado and Rodrigo Paz
Machado responded that this recognition is his because in the end it is the same cause: democracy.
Then, he congratulated him for having won the presidency of Bolivia in a second round against Jorge “Tuto” Quiroga, a result that ended 20 years of socialism.
Rodrigo Paz gave the coordinator of Vente Venezuela his support in the cause for change in the country: “We join the fight to recover democracy in Venezuela. These are very difficult times, here we have achieved a great step.”
The opponent thanked him for his words and promised him that she would receive him in a free Venezuela. “Believe me that we are close and that the transition to democracy in Venezuela is going to represent that Bolivia is going to have its main ally in my country. I am going to receive you in a free Venezuela, I am going to have that honor,” he stressed.
The Bolivian told him that I was waiting for her on November 8 in her country for when her inauguration occurs.. However, Machado reminded him that he is in hiding, but does not rule out whether good things happen for Venezuelans between now and that date. “You know that I am in hiding. I have not been able to leave the country for 11 years. They are looking for me, they have accused me of terrorism, if they find me, they will disappear me, “But between now and November 8, many things can happen, but if Venezuela is already prosecuted, it would be an honor, it would be my first trip in 11 years.”
With this, he revealed the possibility of attending this event, as long as Nicolás Maduro’s government in the country has ended.
