THE National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) determinedthis Monday (20), the seizure of Ouro Negro extra virgin olive oilprohibiting the commercialization, distribution, manufacture, import, dissemination and consumption of the product.
THE olive oil was denounced for having unknown origin and disqualified by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa). The label indicates import by Intralogística Distribuidora Concept Ltda., whose National Register of Legal Entities (CNPJ) is suspended at the Federal Revenue Service.
In another measure, the Anvisa suspended 13 batches of 500g ground Himalayan salt, from the Kinino brand, valid until March 2027. The determination follows a voluntary recall by the manufacturer itself, HL do Brasil Indústria e Comércio, after analyzes by the Adolfo Lutz Institute, in São Paulo, showing an iodine content below the permitted level.
Salt iodization is a mandatory public health measure in Brazil to prevent iodine deficiency disorders such as thyroid and fetal development complications.
Another item that underwent inspection action by Anvisa and must be removed from circulation is the miracle tea (Pó do Milagre or Pozinho do Milagre). The ban occurred because the composition and classification of the product are unknown.
Another irregularity found by Anvisa was the publicity of the tea on the social networks Facebook and Instagram, indicating the product for medicinal purposes, associating its use with therapeutic benefits, such as weight loss, treatment of anxiety and insomnia, cancer prevention, sexual stimulant, among others. This practice is not permitted for foods and teas.
The companies were approached by Brazil Agencybut did not comment until the publication of the text.
