“It will be for a while; I have things to do,” he commented and assured that tomorrow, Tuesday, October 21, he will give more information to the media.
The legislator has stood out for being controversial when questioned about his lifestyle, which is not consistent with Morena’s narrative about austerity.
He has maintained that austerity is in the public policies promoted by the government.
Recently he went for the house he acquired in Morelos, which cost 12 million pesos. To defend himself, he argued that it is not a “mansion” and that he continues to pay for it with a loan he took out.
Another scandal was a trip he took on a private flight for a work tour in Coahuila. The senator justified himself by quoting President Claudia Sheinbaum.
“The fellow president clearly said that when it is necessary (to use this type of flights),” said the senator, adding that this trip or “air taxi,” as he called it, is not contrary to the austerity policy promoted by Morena.
There is also his trip abroad. As president of the Senate, he traveled to Europe to participate in an official event.
Last March, Noroña was in France to attend the conference of parliamentary presidents organized by the European Council.
The total cost of his visit to this country was 157,594 pesos, but he returned 66,206 pesos to the Upper House, for which the Senate paid 91,388 pesos.
Added to this is the confrontation he had with the leader of the PRI, Alejandro Moreno. On August 27, four PRI members physically attacked him during the session of the Permanent Commission of Congress. It all started when Fernández Noroña did not give the floor to the also known “Alito”.
