Reform program allows for “any type of improvement”, says minister

Beneficiaries of the Reforma Brasil program, launched this Monday (20) by President Lula, can make any type of improvement to their homes. The information was brought by the Minister of Cities, Jader Filho, in a press conference. Reform program allows for “any type of improvement”, says minister

Public policy will allow families can finance values ​​starting at R$5,000 for renovations, expansions and adaptations of homes across the country.

Simplified process

The government informs that the financing granting operation will be simplified and digital, starting with the Caixa website or bank app, from November 3rd. The operationalization of the The financing request will be made via a specific website that will be available from this Tuesday (21).

THE The beneficiary will need to prove that the work has been carried out.

“The person will present what work they want to do in their home and take a photo. 90% credit [do total] is released”, explained the Minister of Cities.

The beneficiary receives the remainder after presenting an image of the improvement made.

Different tracks

A clarification from Jader Filho is that the beneficiary of the program does not necessarily need to have structural problems in the house.

“Any type of renovation that the family wants to do”, he guaranteed.

Jader Filho explained that the program was developed by the Ministries of Cities and Finance, in partnership with Caixa Econômica Federal. The estimated value, in total, is R$30 billion from the Social Fund in credit lines aimed at families with incomes of up to R$9,600.

Caixa will also set aside R$10 billion from the Brazilian Savings and Loan System (SBPE) for those with income above this limit.

Therefore, public policy foresees a total of R$40 billion in credit. The resources are for this year and also 2026.

Another information provided is that there is no prior distribution of program resources by region of the country.

Houses

THE Casa Brasil Reform initially serves residents of urban areas in capitalsmunicipalities with more than 300 thousand inhabitants, or that are part of population arrangements of this size. The credit is mainly aimed at residential use, but can include mixed-use properties.

Interest rates vary depending on the families’ monthly income range. In bracket 1, interest is 1.17% for those with income of up to R$3,200.

For those earning between R$3,200 and R$9,600, interest is 1.95%.

For those with an income above R$9,600, the rules apply to Caixa with financing amounts starting at R$30,000 and payment terms of up to 180 months.
