Legislators from the department achieve benefits for social work organizations in Cerro Largo

A press conference was the venue chosen to announce the result of the joint work of the three legislators of the department: Senator Botana and Representatives Echenique and Araujo.

This coordinated and articulated action, above party flags, allowed 4 institutions – AGRUPATEA, UDI, HADA and the Juan José Burgos Home – to receive annual amounts of money from the State, as established in the Five-Year Budget recently approved in the House of Representatives that will begin to be studied these days in the Senate.

“Our National Representatives were National Representatives of Cerro Largo during the entire period of the budget discussion” he said Economist Luis Sergio Botana about the work of the two deputies.

“Before the budget discussion, they prepared to work as a unit to maintain the aid that the National Budget gives to social work organizations in all of Uruguay, where it is very difficult to get even a little bit. Here there was a commitment to keep the door open and to grow” said the Senator of the National Party.

Botana congratulated Echenique and also Araujo publicly. “They did a formidable job. Now the commitment we have is to ensure that everything that has been advanced does not go backwards during the budgetary session in the Senate” he stated.

CHILDREN AND OLDER ADULTS BENEFIT

“These items of subsidies and subsidies, which are achieved with previous work that did not begin in this period or in this legislature, but were no longer carried out by previous legislators, things that Botana knows very well because he worked on it with the different civil associations, on this occasion they benefit AGRUPATEA, UDI-3, HADA de Río Branco and the Juan José Burgos Nursing Home” detailed the Professor Yisela Araujo.

It should be noted that in the case of AGRUPATEA and UDI-3 they were already receiving this type of contributions and that both the Hogar Juan José Burgos and HADA are added to the list of organizations that receive these items.

“Childhoods – boys and girls – benefit here, but also older adults who we must not lose sight of” remarked the Broad Front Deputy.

THE COMMITMENT TO WORK FOR THE DEPARTMENT

“For me it is a pleasure to be at this moment sharing this table with Yisela, with Sergio, with the Home for the Elderly, with HADA, with AGRUPATEA and with UDI-3 because we really feel that it was a triumph for us to be able to continue with all this” express Graciela Echenique.

“For example, HADA, which has just started, which needs this type of support so much, that for the first time they are going to receive it. In addition, they are located at a significant distance from the departmental capital, they cannot be associated with Melo, they must have independence” stated the National Party Deputy.

“We know of Sergio’s sensitivity to work for everything he has done before for all these organizations that have needed so much” highlighted about the Senator of the Republic. “It has been a pleasure working with Yisela” He added regarding his colleague from the Frente Amplio.

“Our commitment has been to work for the department together, beyond the Political Parties” he emphasized.

“We are going to continue working between the three of us” he committed. “More things will emerge, but, above all, we will have to maintain what has been achieved” said Graciela Echenique.
