The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported on the indictment and deprivation of liberty of three people in the state of Zulia for their alleged links to drug trafficking.
Darwin Paz, Wuinder González and Orlando Andrade were presented before the corresponding control court, after being captured in possession of 7,855 kilograms of alleged marijuana.
According to the information, the criminals were trying to transport the illicit substance, which was hidden in a bag, using a motorcycle as a means of transport.
The objective of this operation was the marketing of the drug, which, according to the prosecutor, constitutes serious damage to the public health of the country.
The Public Ministry charged the three men with the crimes of illicit trafficking of narcotic and psychotropic substances and association. Currently, they are deprived of liberty while the judicial process progresses.
“The Venezuelan State reiterates its commitment to the fight against drug trafficking, whose scourges seek to destroy the social and family fabric,” said the attorney general in reference to the case.

Prosecutor Tarek William Saab reported, through his Instagram account, on the conviction of three individuals in the state of Guárico, found guilty of aggravated extortion and illicit possession of a firearm.
Saab explained that the Public Ministry (MP) achieved exemplary sentences against Joel Ferrer and Luis Gómez, who were sentenced to 16 years and 8 months in prison.
For his part, the subject Luis Monroy received the highest sentence, 18 years and 8 months in prison.
He explained that the criminals terrorized a merchant by threatening to kill him and demanding a “large sum of money” under extortion.
To intimidate their victim and force payment, the convicts fired multiple shots at the victim’s business, a clear act of violence against citizens.
