Santo Domingo.– The president Luis Abinader will lead this Wednesday, October 22, a national jobs dayorganized by the Ministry of Laborwith the aim of connecting citizens with job opportunities in various sectors.
The event will take place at the UNICARIBE Convention Centerlocated on the Malecón of Santo Domingo, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.under the motto “Your job is here”.
During the activity, they will be offered 6,811 vacancies provided by 64 companies from hotel, industrial and service sectors. Furthermore, it will be the setting for the official launch of the RD-Trabaja programan initiative that seeks to achieve a 50% formality in employment in the Dominican Republic.
The Minister of Labor, Eddy Olivareshighlighted that the day allows participants to submit resumes, participate in interviews and access job orientation workshops in a professional and accessible environment. He pointed out that the RD-Trabaja program seeks strengthen labor intermediationbring opportunities to the provinces with the highest unemployment rates and carry out more effective monitoring of filled vacancies.

The new model includes digital records of companies and job seekerswhich will facilitate the labor impact assessment and the expansion of coverage National Employment Service through the Territorial Employment Offices (OTE)bringing future days to communities with greater needs.
Olivares stressed that this activity is the start of a national plan to guarantee decent and sustainable jobs. The government will continue to carry out regional job fairsprioritizing areas with high unemployment rates and strengthening alliances with the private sector to promote technical training, labor inclusion and work formalization as pillars of the country’s economic and social development.
