He Dominican Republic Army (ERD) stopped three SUVs in different locations in the provinces Valverde and Dajabóntransporting 44 Haitian nationals in an irregular immigration situation.
According to a press release from the institution, the first operational was carried out in the community of GuatapanalMao municipality, province Valverdewhere a gray KIA SUVhosted by Emmanuel Mejía García. In the vehicle were 15 Haitians, including 9 men, 5 women and a minor.
Minutes later, in the same town, another red Honda CRV SUV, license plate G612290, was detained, driven by Omar Laoreano, transporting 17 Haitians: 10 men, 4 women and 3 minors.
- The institution indicated that both drivers were arrested and will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry.
He left the vehicle abandoned
In the community Big MountainLoma de Cabrera municipality, province Dajabónsoldiers intercepted a blue Honda CRV SUV, license plate G597245, whose driver fled upon noticing the presence of the Army, leaving the vehicle abandoned, according to the statement.
Inside it were found 12 Haitians: 3 men, 6 women and 3 minors.
All vehicles and migrants were transferred to the corresponding military headquarters: the first two to the 4th. Infantry Brigade and the third to 10th Infantry Battalionfor legal procedures established in coordination with the competent authorities.
