The Minister of the Interior, Vicente Tiburcioheld a meeting this Sunday at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Dirincri) accompanied by the general commander of the National Police of Peru, Oscar Arriola.
During the meeting with the heads of the specialized units, he stressed that the Government’s priority is to confront crime with intelligence, firmness and transparency.

“Our mission is clear: confront crime with intelligence, firmness and transparency“, stated Tiburcio at the beginning of the meeting, in which the results of recent police operations were evaluated and new actions against hitmen, extortion and drug trafficking were outlined.
The minister was emphatic in demanding concrete results in criminal investigations. “Criminal investigation is the heart of the fight against crime by the National Police of Peru. I don’t want reports, I want results,” he stressed to the operational and intelligence chiefs present at the meeting.
Subsequently, Tiburcio met with his counterparts from the Ministry of Defense (Mindef) and the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem), as well as the general commander of the National Police of Peru (PNP), to evaluate the progress of the Pataz Unified Command, made up of the Armed Forces and the National Police.
