Shock plan activated for 90 days to reinforce security in Guarne (Antioquia)

The strategy seeks to reduce theft, extortion and kidnapping.

This weekend it was learned that the National Police and the National Army activated a plan to reinforce security in the municipality of Guarne, in eastern Antioquia.

It’s about the crash plan’Acting for Antioquia’, which will last 90 days and contemplates the incorporation of 35 specialized uniformed personnel, including anti-narcotics units, automotive units, Gaula and the purple patrol.

The mayor of Guarne, Mauricio Grisales, explained that 35 people will arrive to reinforce surveillance and prevention work in urban and rural areas.

“Joint work between authorities and the community is essential to build safe environments. We invite citizens to report any situation that affects coexistence,” said the local leader.

Furthermore, he indicated that This municipality in eastern Antioquia currently has 68 police units and the support of the National Army and the Gaula Military.

Likewise, he pointed out that with this strategy they are seeking reduce theft, extortion and kidnapping. The president also stated that among the projects is to increase the institutional presence in this town.

“Checkpoints, interventions in public establishments, identification of people and specific actions against the theft of vehicles and motorcycles will be implemented. In addition, There will be support from intelligence units, judicial police, childhood and adolescenceand the purple patrol to address cases of gender violence,” concluded Mayor Mauricio Grisales.

The authorities reiterated the invitation to citizens to report any fact that can prevent any situation that affects the tranquility of the inhabitants.

For her part, the Secretary of Government, Elisarai Torres, expressed: “We reiterate the call to the community to report any criminal act. All information will be treated with absolute confidentiality and will contribute to strengthening the investigations.”
