"We demand justice": Relatives and friends of Yenni Karolay gathered in the town square of Circasia

Yenni Karolay, a young woman murdered in Quindío.

They ask that they find the person responsible for the femicide of the young woman found with signs of abuse.

An inhabitant of Circasia, a municipality located in the north of the department of Quindío, they are dismayed by the femicide of Yenni Karolay, a 20-year-old girl who was found dead and with traces of sexual violence in an enomontada area of ​​the La Plancha neighborhood.

Last night, relatives, friends and acquaintances of the Law student of the Great Colombia Universitygathered in the Plaza de Circasia to demand that this crime not go unpunished and that they have the same speed as in other cases to find the person responsible for this atrocious act that has been repudiated by the Quindians.

“We demand justice,” they shouted in the square and it is also read on banners carried by dozens of people asking the authorities to find the perpetrator of this young woman who had left her house at around 7 p.m. on Friday to walk around his dogs and never came back.

His dogs did and this alerted his relatives who notified the authorities. Hours later her body was found lifeless and with signs of allegedly having been abused.

Students and directors of the Universidad La Gran Colombia paid a posthumous tribute to Yenni Karolay in the chair she used to occupy in the classroom. Flowers and lights on the floor surrounding her seat commemorated her sad departure.

From that university faculty voices of solidarity have also been raised with the family and the student and also of protest so that this femicide does not go unpunished and can be resolved in the shortest possible time.

Ferminist groups and society in general scheduled a sit-in in the town square for Monday, March 14 at 7 in the morning, with the intention of rejecting the crime of Yenni Karolay.

So far, the authorities continue to work on the search for the femicide. To do this, they are collecting clues and evidence to find her whereabouts.
