Through a management resolution, the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) accepted the appeal filed by the president and legal representative of the political party Party of Workers and Entrepreneurs (PTE-Peru), Napoleon Becerraabout the decision of the electoral body to exclude him from the general electoral process of April 2026 due to administrative problems related to the modality of internal elections.
“It is proven that the National Executive Committee did timely define on August 31, 2025 the modality of delegates for the primary elections of the political organization, and that this was communicated by the vice president of the National Electoral Committee to this electoral entity on September 1, 2025,” the document reads.
In one of the articles of the document, the political organization is urged to “update the multiple accesses of its electronic mailbox” to be notified of future resolutions.
The resolution is also sent to the National Elections Jury (JNE) and the publication of the measure is ordered in the official channels of the ONPE.
CELEBRATE MEASURE
On social networks, the PTE-Peru celebrated the decision of the electoral body. They noted that they had obtained “an important legal victory” to be able to name their candidates for president, vice presidents, the bicameral Congress and the Andean Parliament.
“We continue firm in the fight, promoting the broadest political, union and entrepreneurial unity of Peru, committed to the social and political change of our homeland, in defense of sovereignty, independence, justice, equality and social equity.
We extend our congratulations to the outstanding administrative and legal work of our lawyers and to the president of the Party,” they mentioned.
Today, Saturday, October 18, they are holding their Extraordinary National Congress at the Jr. Huallaga 160 location. Their presidential slate will be made up of Napoleón Becerra himself as a candidate for Pizarro’s chair, and will have Winston Huamán (first vice presidency) and Nélida Cuayla (second vice presidency) as vice presidents. At 2 pm they plan a launch event in San Juan de Lurigancho.
