Brazilian Jéssica Ferreira won, last Friday (17), bronze in the individual race of the PTWC class (for wheelchair users) of the Paralympic Triathlon World Championship held in Wollongong (Australia) with a time of 1h12min45.Jéssica Ferreira wins bronze in the Paralympic triathlon World Championship

The triathlete from São Paulo was only behind Australian Lauren Parker, current Paralympic champion of the race, who took gold with a time of 1h10min43s, and North American Emelia Perry, silver with a time of 1h11min53s.

In addition to Jéssica, Brazil was represented in the women’s category by Letícia Freitas from Minas Gerais, from the PTVI class (visual impairment), who, guided by Pamella Oliveira, finished in fifth place with a time of 1h09min33s. Érica da Rosa, from Espírito Santo, in the PTS5 class (physical-motor disability), also finished in fifth place, but with a time of 1h16min53s.

In the men’s category, Santa Catarina’s Jorge Fonseca (PTS4, physical-motor disability) finished in ninth place with a time of 1h06min05s, while Ruiter Gonçalves (PTS5) from Goiás finished in tenth, with 1h03min02s.
