The president of the republic, Nicolás Maduro, announced the activation of the Great Llanos Corridor, within the framework of Operation Independence 200, which the State is carrying out in defense of the homeland against the threat from the United States in the Caribbean Sea.
“Today we complete all the comprehensive defense zones of the country. All the states, all the federal entities are already ready in the 27 fundamental tasks of the comprehensive defense of Venezuela,” the national leader announced early this Saturday.
He indicated that this exercise in the plains began at 00:00 in the states of Barinas, Portuguesa, Cojedes and Guárico, what he called the Great Plain Corridor for national defense.
“We are in perfect national union, in the union of all Venezuelans who love our land and who wish to continue winning along the path of peace,” added the head of state in a publication on his social networks.
He added that these exercises serve to put the organized forces of the popular, police, and military fusion at the optimal point of preparation in the defense of the homeland against foreign threats.
“Let’s continue winning peace! It is the slogan. Today, Saturday the 18th, the plain activated a few hours after José Gregorio Hernández and Carmen Rendiles receive their definitive canonization. Venezuela, country of wise men, of patriots, of warriors and of saints, may God bless Venezuela!”, he concluded in his message.
