The Brazilian Navy issued a hangover warning for the waterfront of the city of Rio de Janeiro, starting at 9pm this Saturday (18th) and expected to end at 9pm next Monday (20th). Waves can reach 2.5 to 3 meters in height.
The recommendation for anyone going to the beach is to avoid swimming in the sea and practicing water sports in areas with undertow conditions. People should not seek to walk in coastal lookout areas or places close to the sea during the warning period.
Beachgoers must strictly follow the instructions of the Fire Department teams. Fishermen should avoid sailing while the surf lasts.
In case of accidents at sea, do not try to rescue victims yourself. Call the Fire Department immediately by calling 193.
