SANTO DOMINGO.- The urban singer Michael Valdez de la Rosa, known as The Crock, He was sentenced this Friday to five years in prison prison along with three women, after being found guilty of involuntary manslaughter to the detriment of a teenager, in an event that occurred in 2021 in the Los Corales del Sur sector, Santo Domingo Este municipality.
Those convicted are Michael Valdez de la Rosa (The Crock), Carola Encarnación Encarnación, Dariolis (Glass) and Dorca Encarnación Encarnación, these last three aunts of the victim, a 17-year-old girl identified by the initials MGE
According to the accusation presented by the inspector Geivis Tapia, on July 20, 2021, around 4:00 in the morning, the teenager presented a health complication while she was in one of the rooms of the house. She was taken by the defendants to a medical center, where her death was confirmed.
The sentence was handed down at the request of prosecutor Ignacio Rojas, from the Final Litigation unit of the Santo Domingo Este Prosecutor’s Office.
The Second Collegiate Court of that district, made up of judges Josefina Ubiera (president), Yury Cuevas de la Cruz and Isaías Martínez, also imposed the payment of compensation of five million pesos in favor of the victim’s relatives.
The Public Ministry prosecuted the group for violation of article 319 of the Dominican Penal Code, as well as literals A and B of article 396 of the Code for the Protection System and the Fundamental Rights of Children and Adolescents.
The sentence will be served in the Najayo Hombres and Najayo Mujeres correction and rehabilitation centers, in the San Cristóbal province.
