Social movements and communist parties from 29 countries participate in the International Day in Support of the Bolivarian Revolution and the Communes, organized in Caracas by the Simón Bolívar Institute for Peace and Solidarity among Peoples (ISB), together with the World Anti-imperialist Platform of South Korea. The meeting, which runs until October 26, promotes international solidarity and highlights the role of the communes in the construction of a sovereign model.
The activity is part of the commemoration of the anniversary of the “Golpe de Timón” speech, delivered by Commander Hugo Chávez on October 20, 2012, considered a turning point in the political and social development of the Bolivarian project.
During the day, the ISB promotes the construction of a common agenda with the World Anti-imperialist Platform, focused on issues of geopolitical interest and proposals aimed at strengthening the sovereignty of peoples. The exchange seeks to generate agreements that contribute to the defense of revolutionary processes in Latin America and other regions.
The initiative consolidates the links between the Bolivarian Revolution and communist organizations around the world, while reaffirming international support for President Nicolás Maduro. The participating delegations express their commitment to self-determination and the fight against imperialist aggression policies.
As part of the program, communal experiences are presented that demonstrate organizational capacities, productive vocation and willingness to advance sovereign projects. The Communes are projected as spaces of resistance and popular construction, under the principle of the right of people to decide their destiny.
