Officials of the Bolivarian Police Corps of Apure state arrested a subject in the San Fernando municipality who tried to sexually abuse a community dog.
The crime was captured by security cameras and spread on social networks, generating great indignation and annoyance among San Fernandinos, who regretted this atrocious event.
They immediately requested the arrest of the aberrant, so the security forces quickly began searching for the subject, depriving him of his freedom and placing him at the disposal of the Public Ministry in Apure so that he could be charged with acts of bestiality in public places.
In this regard, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported that citizen Luis Rodríguez was arrested in the state of Apure to be charged by the Public Ministry, after committing acts of bestiality in public against a canine.
This case is part of the efforts of the Venezuelan State to strengthen legislation against animal abuse.
In addition, the Public Ministry has created specialized prosecutor’s offices in environmental and animal protection matters, with the aim of addressing complaints, promoting educational campaigns and guaranteeing compliance with current regulations.
Since August 2017 to date, the Public Ministry has prosecuted 380 people for the crime of animal abuse, of which 44 have been convicted, according to the latest balance sheet provided.
