Two more bodies were located and extracted from the cylinders or wells of the 4 Esquinas mine in El Callao, this after its collapse, as a result of heavy rainfall on October 13.
The first bodies located and identified are Robert Custodio (40), David Guevara (27), Jonathan Solano (31) and Félix Romero (35), while the authorities continue with the search plan of the other 10 victims.
Governor Yulisbeth García, after touring the mining area and evaluating the search maneuvers carried out, highlighted that the prevention forces stationed in the comprehensive care command will not rest until they manage to find the whereabouts of each of the victims.
García indicated that, simultaneously with the work carried out, social support for the victims’ families also continues through a comprehensive medical and social team “that will do what is necessary to attend to each request.”
“We have been carrying out search work since day one and also supporting the relatives without rest because that is the instruction of President Nicolás Maduro and we will continue doing what is pertinent until we manage to recover each body,” said the governor.
Relatives of the victims asked the community in general not to manipulate information about the tragedy, while calling for respect and cry out to God “because when one’s strength runs out, it is God who gives the strength.”
Let us remember that on October 13 in the early hours of the morning and as a result of heavy rainfall, the 4 Esquinas mine collapsed in the municipality of El Callao, leaving 14 miners trapped in three wells or mining cylinders.
