Abinader heads the inauguration of Crece 2025

The President of the Republic, Luis Abinaderheaded this Friday the official opening of the second edition of Crece, a biennial initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Saint Dominic aimed at strengthening and accompanying entrepreneurs and MSMEs in their business development and consolidation.

During the event, the president of the Chamber, Lucile Houellemont, expressed that the event seeks to be “a spark that fuels the fire of ideas”, by reaffirming the institution’s commitment to generating opportunities for economic growth.

“We are convinced that when a company grows and generates employment and wealth, the city and the country also grow,” he noted.

Grow 2025 is consolidated as a space for training, connection and support for entrepreneurs and small business owners, in line with the mission of the Chamber Saint Dominic to promote the business development throughout the entire business life cycle.

The entrepreneurial potential of Saint Dominic

During his speech, Houellemont highlighted that so far this year, some 25 thousand new formal companies have been created in the country, of which more than 7,300 belong to Saint Dominicevidencing the entrepreneurial force of the capital.

“Santo Domingo has technological connections and first-class logistics, in addition to a young population with all the energy to undertake. We have the potential to become a referent city in the region,” he said.

Key projects and growth focus

The president of the Chamber also presented some of the initiatives that support the growth of MSMEs, such as Entrepreneurship Center of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), managed in the country by the institution, and the WomanEs Directorywhich makes visible and promotes companies where women are the majority shareholders.

“We want every person who dreams of undertake find in the Chamber Saint Dominic an ally for your progress,” said Houellemont.

In this edition of Crece, participants will access learning spaces focused on topics such as female leadershiptransition from entrepreneur to businessman, intellectual property for creative industries, content creation for business, finance, artificial intelligenceformalization, electronic billing and digital signature.

Training and technology at the service of business

Houellemont emphasized that the event is committed to a adaptation culture and innovation as keys to business success in the digital age.

“Creativity is fundamentally human. Machines can imitate, but they can never replace ability to dream and create,” he said.

Program and institutional support

The event takes place during two days —Friday and Saturday—and includes panels, conferences, power talks and specialized workshops. As part of the closing, the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, will participate for the first time in a podcastwhere he will share his experience with young entrepreneurs.

Grow 2025 has the support of the Dominican Popular Bank and the Ministry of IndustryCommerce and MSMEs (MICM). Likewise, its strategic allies include Diario Libre (media partner), La Saint DominicIndustrias San Miguel, Grupo SID, CSI, ONAPI, ProDominicana, United Capital and Claro.
