Cardinal Carlos Castillo condemns the death of Eduardo Ruiz: "Peru will not have a future without young people"

In his message broadcast in episode 16 of Nocturnal Meditations — Purple Month, the Cardinal Carlos Castillo described the day of protests as a day of mourning for the loss of Eduardo Ruiz in the context of the demonstrations. He rejected the violence that devastates the country and called for prayers for those who were injured or missing.

Castillo also denounced the lack of understanding that young people often face when expressing their social demands, and requested that society provide open spaces for their peaceful development. In that sense, he emphasized that it is not enough to tolerate them, but rather to understand their motivations and accompany them on the path to peace.
