Demonstrating that fishing is not only a men’s sport, Rosmery Alcantara Zevallos was the winner of the II Sports Fishing Tournament held within the framework of the 71st anniversary of political creation of the district of Santa Barbara de Carhaucayán, fishing for a trout weighing 01 kilo 400 grams in the beautiful Barrosococha lagoon attached to Chuquikirpay at almost 5,000 meters above sea level.

More than 70 fishing fans from the central macro region of the regions of Junín, Pasco, Huánuco and Lima were present at this event where participants of different ages demonstrated their skill and passion for this traditional activity.

The fishermen enjoyed a day full of nature, coexistence and respect for the environment that has more and more fans

Mayor Fredy Cajachagua Baldeón thanked the presence of the fishermen who come in various teams who recognized the organization of the event and the potential of this district for fishing the rainbow trout that grow naturally in these lagoons near the sky.
