“More future” was the song with which Silvio joined “A song for Pepe” in January, an initiative through which songs, poems and other messages of affection were sent to Mujica, after learning of the extent of his esophageal cancer and the former president asking the press and regular visitors to his farm to enjoy his last months, he recalls. Looking ahead to turning 79 on November 29, Silvio Rodríguez will have a first presentation at the Antel Arena in the Uruguayan capital this Friday and a second on Saturday.
The artist has already toured Chile and Argentina as part of a Latin American tour that, as announced by the musician on the social network Instagram, will also have stops in Peru and Colombia.
During his stay in Buenos Aires, where he performed at the Movistar Arena, the Cuban had a meeting with the former president of Argentina, Cristina Fernández, who is serving a six-year sentence of house arrest and was also recognized by the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo.
