Yesterday the Senate ratified the presidential appointment of the five people who will occupy the vacant magistrates of the upper chamber of the Federal Court of Administrative Justice, amid criticism from the opposition for considering that they have adequate preparation, but they belong to the party in power and said bias will prevent them from being impartial.
These are Ariadna Camacho Contreras, Selene Cruz Alcalá, Ludmila Valentina Albarrán Acuña, Eduardo Santillán Pérez and José Ramón Amieva Gálvez, who will hold the position for 15 non-renewable years starting next November 1st.
When presenting the opinion endorsed by 82 votes in favor, 34 against and one abstention, Miguel Ángel Yunes, president of the Finance Commission, expressed that the proposed profiles meet the suitability, legal and technical requirements, and show the commitment of the head of the Executive Branch to present the best candidates for the public administration.
Morenoist senator Emmanuel Reyes Carmona also considered that they comply with each of the requirements established by law and estimated that it is not a problem that they have participated in different political projects, as did Carlos Chaurand (current member of the Federal Court of Administrative Justice), who in addition to being a federal deputy twice was also a senator of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI).
Or what can we say about other members, such as Víctor Orduña, who was an advisor to the PAN member Diego Fernández de Cevallos and technical secretary of the National Action in the Senate, or Guillermo Valls related to Roberto Gil, of the blue and whitehe added.
He also referred to Zulema Mosri, wife of General Rafael Macedo de la Concha, Attorney General of the Republic during the six-year term of the PAN member Vicente Fox. He also mentioned Julián Alfonso Olivas, Secretary of the Public Service with Enrique Peña Nieto, among other magistrates of the aforementioned court.
Previously, PRI member Cristina Ruiz pointed out that Eduardo Santillán has been delegation head, local deputy and electoral representative of Morena. He has never administered justice and faces public complaints for his conduct during his delegation management. Regarding José Ramón Amieva, he recalled that he was in charge of the office of the head of Government of Mexico City.
Raymundo Bolaños, from the PAN, explained that Ariadna Camacho is director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Tourism; Selene Cruz is a representative of the government in the second chamber of the Federal Court of Conciliation and Arbitration, and Ludmila Albarrán was with President Claudia Sheinbaum since she was head of the delegation in Tlalpan.
Clemente Castañeda, coordinator of Movimiento Ciudadano, declared that the identity of the candidates with the ruling party is unquestionable. “They are ideal to occupy a position in the Morena Honor and Justice Commission,” he pointed out ironically.
