It was during a working breakfast with representatives of the Chilean-Peruvian Chamber of Commerce and the Chilean-Peruvian Business Council, within the framework of the inauguration of President Gabriel Boric.
“Let’s continue investing in the country, we are an open, trustworthy government. We have not come to the government to scare away capital, on the contrary, to make a call. We would like this economic growth to be balanced with the development that our country needs,” Castillo said.
In allusion to the acts of corruption that are imputed to his government, Castillo denied them. “Ghosts have been created, that is not true. We are more than democratic, we are people of the people,” he assured.
As part of his agenda, he met with his Bolivian counterpart, Luis Arce, with whom he discussed the implementation of the energy cooperation agreements signed in 2021 to supply with Bolivian LPG to Peruvian populations, supply natural gas to border populations and connect the Bolivian gas pipeline to the future gas pipeline in southern Peru.
Castillo also met with the president of Argentina, Alfredo Fernández, to address health and education issues. The creation of a Peruvian-Argentine social cabinet to strengthen management was not ruled out.
Before returning to Peru, he participated in a lunch together with other leaders and his wife Lilia Paredes at the Cerro Castillo Palace.
