The executive director of the Association of Colombians in Venezuela, Juan Carlos Tanus, during an interview on the program “Café en La Mañana”, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), assured that the aggressions of the United States against Venezuela seek to diminish the process of unity that the State has with Colombia.
“Unity is very important between Colombia and Venezuela, not only because of the electoral processes, but also in politics against the United States,” he said.
Likewise, he stressed that what is happening in Colombia has to do with the condition that the United States has placed on the Caribbean and Latin America, “that is, a low-intensity war, which little by little the international community recognizes what has happened in Panama, Honduras, Guatemala, among others.”
In reference to the authorization of covert “operations” of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to act against the peace and stability of the country, Tanus stated that this organization is part of the psychological structures of the United States, which try to intimidate. “The CIA is an instrument that seeks to undermine the democratic processes of free peoples.”
In another vein, Tanus added that the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace shows the vocation of the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and the people in confluence to generate dynamism between the parties.
Likewise, he added that as a brother people, they proposed that this council be offered to accompany the Colombian cause, “because the pacification process in Venezuela is an example for Latin America and the Caribbean.”
Finally, he mentioned that the exercises that the United States Government has carried out in the Caribbean Sea have left a balance of 27 victims. Furthermore, he asserted that the real purposes that the North American country has in the region is to promote regime changes, appropriate resources and establish control over the hemisphere.
