Venezuela and Belarus reaffirm bilateral agenda at the 19th NAM Summit

The Foreign Minister of Venezuela, Yván Gil, held a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart, Maksim Ryzhenkov, within the framework of the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) where they reaffirmed the bilateral agenda and the shared objectives between both nations.

Gil shared some photographs of the meeting on his Telegram channel, where he highlighted that “this dialogue is part of our commitment to guarantee multilateralism and adopt concrete measures for the future of our people, who today face threats from those who seek to destabilize the world order in their desire for supremacy.”

Both ministers previously in the context of the 80th period of sessions of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), in New York, on September 24, when they reaffirmed the shared commitment to promoting peace and the self-determination of peoples, reports information from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

In this last year, Caracas and Minsk have strengthened their cooperation agenda in areas such as food production, trade and the petrochemical industry, as well as the reactivation of factories and heavy machinery and the possibility of exchange between businessmen from both countries in the field of metalworking and the electrical sector.

Gil has also held meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uganda, Haji Abubaker Jeje Odongo; the Palestinian ambassador to the UN, Riyad Mansour; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez; the Foreign Minister of Algeria, Ahmed Attaf; and the Foreign Minister of Iran, Seyed Abás Araqchi, whom he thanked on behalf of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, for their support and solidarity towards the Venezuelan nation, which has been a victim of constant threats, attacks and harassment by the administration of Donald Trump.

Venezuela’s participation in the Mnoal Summit

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela made his speech at the Intermediate Summit of Foreign Ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), in which he expressed that the nation has had the opportunity to meet with important allies, who have expressed their deep solidarity in the face of the US military threat in the Caribbean.

He emphasized that the military threat looming over the region has been a central topic of discussion, since it represents a serious risk to peace, security and international stability.

Finally, he reiterated that this event constitutes a key platform to discuss relevant issues of international politics and strengthen cooperation between nations.
