Alejandro Char, mayor of Barranquilla, announced that will recognize Steven Castellanos Ramos like your son after a ruling that orders him to be named Steven Char Ramos.
In a statement he stated that he requested the voluntary recognition through a memorial dated August 20, 2025.
“I requested voluntary recognition addressed to my lawyer and the court in question. In said document I expressed my intention to recognize Steven as my son, a decision that I took together with my family,” the memorial states.
The document also clarifies: “It is important to highlight that only after 33 years did I become aware of the existence of Steven, who had paternal recognition from another person and after completing all the relevant procedures in accordance with the requirements of the law, I will proceed in accordance with what said authority orders“.

It is worth mentioning that the sentence issued by the First Family Court of Bogotá orders to declare that Jorge Eliécer Castellanos Moreno is not the father of Steven Castellanos Ramos and to modify the young man’s civil registry, in recognition of his right to identity.
“Notary Office 40 of this city or the corresponding one is urged to proceed accordingly by registering this sentence, an act that must be made in the corresponding civil birth registry with the only authentic copy of this ruling, which will be issued at the expense of the interested parties, with the records of the case,” the ruling reads.
The story became known in June 2024, when Steven Castellanos decided to begin the search for his biological identity after turning 33 years old. On that occasion, Diana Ramoshis mother, told him that his real father would be Alejandro Char Chaljub.
Apparently, Char, on December 4 of that same year, had been summoned to undergo an dna test at the Forensic Medicine facilities, but did not attend.
The second was set for June 4, 2025, was postponed for alleged health reasons; However, two days later, the Mayor was seen on social networks attending a Colombian National Team match, which generated controversy and public criticism.
