The National Civil Construction Index (Sinapi) registered inflation of 0.56% in February this year, below the rate of the previous month (0.72%). The indicator was also below that observed in February 2021 (1.33%). The Sinapi data were released today (11) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
According to the IBGE, the indicator accumulates an inflation rate of 16.28% in 12 months, below the 17.17% accumulated in January.
With the rise in prices, the cost of construction reached R$ 1,533.96 per square meter. In February, the materials had an inflation of 0.77% and started to cost R$ 922.86 per square meter. Labor became 0.23% more expensive in the month and started to cost R$ 611.10 per square meter.
