The fact was confirmed by the Fourth Division of the Army where they said that an attack was recorded with an unmanned aerial device type drone against the facilities of the Jungle Battalion No. 24 General Luis Carlos Camacho Leyva, located in the municipality of Calamar, department of Guaviare.
“A soldier who was injured was immediately evacuated to a care center, where he is receiving medical attention and is stable,” said the Army.
They also said that the troops who were at the scene activated security protocols and mitigated the effects of the aggression, preventing there from being victims.
Simultaneously, there were attacks against the residence of the municipal mayor and later against a group of police who arrived at the scene to verify the situation.

The Army said that it was an action by illegal armed groups, which seek to terrorize the civilian population and generate anxiety in the region.
They said that there was a second attempted attack with a drone, but that they managed to shoot it down before it reached its objective, avoiding further damage to the military unit and neutralizing this aerial threat.
According to preliminary information, these violent acts would have been perpetrated by members of the Armando Ríos structure, of the GAO-r, in an attempt to destabilize security in the municipality and affect the morale of the troops who They fulfill their constitutional mission in the Colombian southeast.
In coordination with the National Police, the Colombian Aerospace Force and the Attorney General’s Office, technical and judicial investigations are carried out to determine the launch point, the characteristics of the drones used and achieve the identification and prosecution of those responsible.
