The National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) officially installed the Decentralized Office of Electoral Processes (ODPE) Huancayo, in charge of organizing and executing the primary elections for the 2026 general elections. This jurisdiction will cover 21 districts of Junín and Huancavelica.

The public event was chaired by the head of the ODPE Huancayo, Jesús Vicente Loayza Cárdenas, with the participation of representatives of the National Election Jury (JNE), Reniec, the Armed Forces and the Junín Ombudsman’s Office.
According to the entity, the primary elections will take place on November 30 and December 7, for which 43 voting tables will be installed in 23 voting locations, where more than 3,000 voters will participate.
The ODPE Huancayo will also be responsible for defining voting locations, distributing electoral materials and coordinating security with the Police and the Armed Forces, guaranteeing the orderly and transparent development of the elections in its jurisdiction.
