Palmeiras gave further proof that they are a strong candidate for the Brazilian Championship title after beating Bragantino 5-1, on Wednesday night (15) at Allianz Parque, in a match valid for the 28th round of the competition.

With this triumph, Verdão remains with a three-point advantage over vice-leader Flamengo, its next opponent in the Brazilian Championship, in a match that will be played next Sunday (19) at the Maracanã stadium from 4pm (Brasília time).
Despite taking the final victory, the team led by Portuguese coach Abel Ferreira began the match by seeing Bragantino take the lead thanks to a goal, from a penalty kick in the 37th minute of the first half, by Jhon Jhon. However, just before the break, Palmeiras equalized with defender Bruno Fuchs heading in.
In the final stage the game had just one protagonist, Verdão, who turned the score around in the 12th minute with striker Vitor Roque and, from then on, increased its advantage thanks to goals from Felipe Anderson (in the 27th minute), Flaco López (in the 38th minute) and Vitor Roque (in the 43rd minute).
Classic victory
Palmeiras’ main opponent in the fight for the Brazilian title is Flamengo, who, despite playing at the Nilton Santos stadium, defeated Botafogo by a score of 3-0.

The team led by coach Filipe Luís counted on a good performance from Pedro to build a convincing victory. The center forward opened the scoring in the 39th minute of the first half and assisted Luiz Araújo’s goal in the 24th minute of the final half. At 34, Ecuadorian Plata scored with a header to give the scorer final numbers.
