When announcing the start of the 2025-2026 winter vaccination campaign, with the goal of immunizing at least 50 million people, especially against influenza and covid, the Secretary of Health, David Kershenobich, reported that “we cannot yet claim victory”, but the measles outbreak in Chihuahua “has decreased very significantly, we have already had days in which no cases are reported.” However, he specified that in Guerrero and Jalisco there are still “important cases”; in the first, in the mountains, and in the second, by “the dispersion.”
In the morning of the town he pointed out that “fortunately 14 states are completing the two periods in which cases have not reappeared.” He indicated that more than one million vaccines have been administered in Chihuahua and more than 10 million in the country.
