Santo Domingo. –The executive director of UN TourismNatalia Bayona, and the regional director for the Americas of the organization, Gustavo Santos, highlighted the leadership of the Dominican minister David Colladowho was recognized as the best Minister of Tourism in the Americas for his outstanding management and contribution to the development of the sector in the region.
The recognition was presented during an event held this Tuesday in a hotel in Santo Domingo, within the framework of the discussion on the Tourism Sustainability Policy and Strategy of the Dominican Republicwith the presence of tourism ministers, businessmen, diplomats and leaders of the sector.
During the ceremony, Natalia Bayona defined Collado as “a tireless leader and example of regional unity,” highlighting his fundamental role in the tourism recovery following the pandemic, when the global industry experienced a 75% drop. “His leadership transcends borders and is an inspiration for Latin America and the Caribbean,” he said.
For its part, Gustavo Santos He stressed that Collado has managed to “mark a mark on regional integration” in times of division, highlighting his ability to unite the public and private sectors to strengthen tourism on the continent.
