During the last few months, Leandro had requested access to the euthanasia procedure, protected by Colombian legislation that allows this practice under specific medical conditions. However, despite having initiated the corresponding procedures, the approval did not arrive on time. His death occurred while he was waiting for medical authorization that would have allowed him to say goodbye without suffering.

The actor, who also participated in productions such as The Woman in the Mirror and O todos en la cama, shared part of his process through social networks. In several messages he expressed his desire to rest and his concern about the slow bureaucratic processes that terminal patients face in Colombia. “I don’t want to continue suffering, I just want to leave in peace,” was one of the phrases most remembered by his followers.
Friends and colleagues from the artistic union expressed their sadness at the news and highlighted the bravery with which Leandro faced the disease. “He was a man full of life and faith, who always fought with dignity,” commented a former castmate. On social networks, his name quickly became a trend, accompanied by messages of admiration and condolences.
Organizations defending the right to die with dignity took advantage of the case to insist on the need to streamline the procedures that allow access to euthanasia in the country. According to them, administrative delays continue to cause many patients to die without being able to exercise this right recognized by the Constitutional Court since 1997.
The actor’s family thanked the expressions of affection received and asked for respect for his grief. The death of Leandro Ramírez It leaves a deep reflection on dignity, pain and the freedom to decide when and how to leave, a discussion that today gains more strength than ever in Colombian society.
