Martín Vizcarra will participate in the march on October 15: "José Jerí has to go"

Martin Vizcarra confirmed that he will participate in the march on October 15 against the government of José Jerí. In an interview with Exitosa, the former president indicated that a change in the presidency is necessary, since Jerí was one of the congressmen who supported Dina Boluarte. “He has ‘legality to assume office, but not legitimacy,'” he said.

In that sense, he considered that Jerí is “part of the mafia pact.” “Tomorrow, I’m going to be at the march, I’m not going to get confused with the ‘generation Z’ because they have their own space (…) we, as citizens, have every right to go out and protest because José Jerí has to leave,” he declared.

According to Vizcarra, parliamentarians Flor Pablo, Ruth Luque, Susel Paredes or Carlos Anderson are the ones who should assume the mandate. “If the whole of Peru has decided that Dina Boluarte goes home, then there has to be a congressman who agrees with that position (…) I would propose Flor Pablo, Carlos Anderson, Ruth Luque or Susel Paredes; that is, of the 130 congressmen you will not find 20 or 30,” he indicated.

The former president explained that the reasons for rejecting José Jerí’s government are that he is a congressman who supported Dina Boluarte’s mandate and who also promoted pro-crime laws.
