Montecristi.– A young woman identified as Catherine Rodriguez24 years old, was rescued this Tuesday by the authorities after having been kidnapped allegedly by her ex-partner and another person in the municipality The Matas of Santa CruzMontecristi province.
The Grimaldi Oviedochief prosecutor of the district, reported that the rescue operation was carried out without major setbacks, although the victim presents visible bumps product of aggression.
“The young woman was located in good general condition, although with minor injuries. She was offered medical and psychological assistance,” Oviedo said.

The man was arrested during the operation, while authorities have not offered details about the identity or whereabouts of the second person who accompanied him on the motorcycle used to commit the kidnapping.
The authorities reported that investigations continue to clarify the circumstances of the case and determine the degree of participation of other possible parties.
Prosecutor Oviedo assured that the Public Ministry will strictly follow the judicial process, in order to guarantee justice and protection for the victim.
“Cases like this should not go unpunished. We are working so that the victim has all the security guarantees,” he said.
