The search efforts for the 14 miners trapped in the 3 cylinders of the Hansa mine of sector 4 corner in the municipality of El Callao, continue without rest, as reported by the governor of the entity, Yulisbeth García.
Some 36 continuous hours of bailing work to reach more than 50 meters deep is the main maneuver used by the multidisciplinary team that installed a command post and immediate attention.
Mobile bilge units and 100 hp submersible pumps are part of the first line of action to dry each of the cylinders or wells where the miners carried out their work.
The Governor explained that the entire search deployment has complied with the strict security protocols to avoid new episodes, since due to the heavy rainfall the effects are considerable.
García pointed out that in addition to the technical prevention and safety team, there is also an entire social team to care for the families of the deceased.
Once the tour was completed, Governor García met with the victims’ families and attended to different requests and proposals of a social nature.
CVG, Government, CVM, Civil Protection and Guasipati Firefighters cordoned off the entire point and circle of the affected mining area, this in order to establish an entire underground search perimeter once the bailing work is completed.
Let us remember that last Monday, October 13, 14 miners were trapped in the cylinder-type mines, due to the heavy rains that occurred in the municipality of El Callao.
