The PCV urged to debate the problems that Venezuelans experience every day and to avoid the beginning of a “situation of generalized violence” in the country
The Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) demanded that Nicolás Maduro’s administration build a political solution to the “military threat” from the United States and the “crisis” that Venezuelans are experiencing.
Yul Jabour, member of the Political Bureau of the PCV, warned that the recent militarization actions promoted by the United States government configure “a warlike scenario that directly threatens the stability of the peoples of the continent and Venezuelan sovereignty.”
On another topic, the leader denounced the repression against social and union activists, as well as the persistent violation of fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution, among them, due process.
“There are political prisoners with more than nine months without trial or legal defense. Even in a state of exception, fundamental rights cannot be suspended,” he recalled.

During the weekly press conference, the political party urged to debate the problems that Venezuelans experience every day and to avoid the beginning of a “situation of generalized violence.”
Since August, Donald Trump’s government has increased pressure on the Maduro administration with the start of a military operation in the Caribbean Sea against drug trafficking cartels. To date, they have reported the destruction of six boats that were allegedly transporting drugs and the death of at least 21 people.
The Maduro administration has denounced the actions of the United States in international bodies and has asked allied countries for help. In parallel, he ordered the activation of the Independence Plan 200 to prepare military and civilians for a possible external attack.
