The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reported that he will propose sending international peace brigades that include builders, farmers and doctors to help the Palestinian authorities in the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
“We are working on an idea with international organizations to, from Venezuela and other countries, help Gaza, accompany the people with internationalist peace brigades, where builders go, where farmers go to produce and where doctors and health personnel go to accompany the reconstruction,” announced the head of state, during the 94th broadcast of his multiplatform program Con Maduro+.
The head of state expressed his hope that “this sacred cause of humanity will never be abandoned again, until the great objective of the rebirth of Palestine is achieved.”
He specified that international law, since resolution 242 of 1967, requires the restitution of territories and the establishment of the Palestinian authority, with its capital in East Jerusalem.
Maduro also called on world public opinion to remain mobilized, since he considers that this is the only way to advance towards a “true comprehensive peace agreement that protects the rights of the Palestinian people.”
He pointed out the need for justice for the genocide that occurred, therefore, “for there to be peace there must be justice,” and he trusted that the countries will ensure the next steps for “the reconstruction of Gaza, the guarantee of the West Bank and the recognition of the Palestinian State by the United Nations.”
