When talking about the blackout recorded in the early hours of Tuesday (14) in all the country’s subsystems, the Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, said that there was no power outage, but an infrastructure problem caused by a fire in a substation in Paraná.
Reinforced system
In an interview with radio stations during the program Good morning, Ministerfrom Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC)Silveira highlighted that the Brazilian transmission system was reinforced through the contracting of 70 billion transmission lines.
“We are carrying out works throughout the Brazilian Northeast for the load center, which is the Southeast. And we also connect Manaus to Boa Vista. We have more energy security” he highlighted.
“It is a one-off episode that the National System Operator responded promptly to thanks to a modern system from our national operator”, concluded the minister.
