The POI began its extraordinary admission process 2025 for those who wish to become Police Agents. The training course lasts two years and combines theoretical instruction with professional practice in police units throughout the country. During the first year, applicants will study in person and in internships, while in the second year a b-learning system will be implemented that includes online classes and field work.

The specializations within the POI They are varied and allow the career to be guided according to the abilities of each applicant. The options include Canine Guide, Immigration Control and Inspection, Tactical Operator, User Attention and Barracks Security, Protection of Important Persons (PPI), Territorial Model Zero (MT-0) and Evidence Management. Each of these areas plays an essential role in the research and citizen security work carried out by the institution throughout the national territory.
During the training period, students of the POI They receive remuneration, health and welfare, since they are part of the institutional staff. Those who enter do so with Grade 20, and after the first year of training they advance to Grade 17, reaching an approximate gross remuneration of $1,008,000. In addition, the institution offers job stability, promotion opportunities and constant training in areas such as criminology, migration and technology applied to investigation.
Requirements to enter the POI:
- Being Chilean or Chilean.
- Be between 18 and 30 years old at the beginning of the training.
- Have a Secondary Education License.
- Have up-to-date military status.
- Have a class B or professional driver’s license when taking the driving test.
- Submit background certificate for special purposes.
- Prove health compatible with police functions.
- Maintain impeccable personal and family history.

The call will be open until Thursday, October 16, 2025, and applicants must complete the digital form, attach the required documentation and submit physical and psychological evaluations. This modality seeks to facilitate access to people from different regions, strengthening the federal character of the institution.
