SANTO DOMINGO.– By accepting the request of the Public Ministryhe Second Collegiate Court of Jarabacoa condemned 20 years in prison to a young man who caused the death of his twin brother after injuring him in the middle of an argument with a knifein an event that occurred last year in the sector Low Step.
Fernet Luise or Loise (the Twin)21, was convicted of the death of his brother Felne Loise (the Twin)both of Haitian nationality. The incident occurred during the night hours of April 8 of last year when they were both walking towards their home located in the town The Stream, The Trackfrom the aforementioned sector of Jarabacoaprovince La Vega.
The Chief Prosecutor of Jarabacoa, Viviana Mena Paulinowho carried out the investigations, granted the case the legal classification of violation of the articles 295 and 304 of the Dominican Penal Code and the articles 83 and 86 of Law 631-16 for the Control and Regulation of Weapons, Ammunition and Related Materials, which classify and punish the criminal offense of “voluntary homicide with the use of a knife”.

During the process, the trial prosecutor Juan Enmanuel Escoto demonstrated the accusation with different elements of documentary, expert, material and testimonial evidence that were welcomed by the judges Martín De La Mota, Fernando Arturo Abreu and Ariella Cedano Núñezwho handed down the sentence and ordered its compliance in the Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR) El Pinitoof La Vega.
The defendant attacked his brother with a knife about 12 inches with which he wounded him in the left infraclavicular regionwhich caused him a hypovolemic shock which caused his death instantly, as stated in the body removal report no. 075813dated April 8, 2024issued by the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif).
A witness He said that he asked the young people to stop arguing, to which the murderer responded “I’m going to kill this one”referring to the victim. He carried out the act at that same moment after removing from his waist the knife with which he committed the crime in the middle of the argument over personal matters.
In the file, the prosecuting body indicated that the defendant acted with malice at the time of taking his brother’s life, an exemplary young man in the community.
