The owner of the Ministry of Housing and Buildings (Mived), Carlos Bonilladefended this Monday afternoon the business closures that that entity has been executing for “structural failures” and other reasons, and rejected that the measure applies only to chinese shops.
The minister assured that the main objective of the closures“is the preservation of lives“, as well as the compliance with lawsas established and ordered by the president of the nation, Luis Abinader.
“The objective of these operations is precisely preserve lives. They are observed structural failures and failures important construction projects at a glance, said by the Mived and for different expert structuralists in the matter,” Bonilla said when answering this Monday’s LA Semana con la Prensa, a question about the motivations for the operations carried out by the portfolio.
In recent weeks, the Mived ordered the closure of several shops, mostly Chinese, under the allegation that the physical structures in which they operated presented failuresas well as lack of required permits.
