President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said this Monday (13) that he considered the decision of the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Luís Roberto Barroso de announce your retirement early.
“I imagined he would move away, but it would take a little longer,” he said.
During a press conference in Rome, Lula was asked about the profile of the next minister to take over from Barroso. He responded that he does not intend to nominate “a friend”, but a person who complies with the Brazilian Constitution.

“I want a person, I don’t know if it’s a woman or a man, I don’t know if it’s black or white, but I want a person who is, above all, qualified to be a Supreme Court minister,” he stated.
“I don’t want a friend, I want a minister of the Supreme Court who will have the specific task of complying with the Brazilian Constitution. That’s the quality I want. It’s the only one I want. It’s been like that with all the ministers I’ve appointed so far and it will continue to be like that. When I arrive in Brazil, I’m going to talk to a lot of people in my government, I’m going to make a decision and I’m going to announce it,” he said.
The president participated, in Rome, in the opening of the World Food Forum.
