With that phrase, one of the sons by Mayra Martínez Romero, 65 years old, summed up the horror experienced on Sunday in the sector The Little Millionfrom the National District, where his father, Nelson Félix Miranda Hermida, shot dead to his wife and his mother-in-law, Doris Librada Martínez Romero, 87, before taking her own life.
According to the son’s testimonyrecorded in the police report, his father contacted him the morning of Sunday with an altered tone and asked him to be “urgent” to the family houselocated on 10th street in the sector. Worried, he called his wife and brother to go together.
“When we were arriving and entering the residence we heard a detonation. We ran inside and the doors were open. Upon entering, we saw mom and grandmother sitting on a lifeless piece of furniture, already dad thrown away face down, dying,” he said.
They immediately called the National Emergency System 9-1-1, whose paramedics transferred the aggressor to the hospital Marcellin Velez Santana, where he died while receiving medical attention.
The National Police confirmed that the two women died instantly due to internal bleeding caused by firearm projectiles. The man died from a similar injury. The weapon used was a Carandai pistolcaliber 9 mm, serial number G14143.

Neighbors from the area described the family as “calm” and seemed dismayed for what happened. So far, authorities have not reported any previous complaints of domestic violence.
The tragedy raises the number of femicides reported this month in the country and puts the cases of domestic violence that end in attacker’s suicide.
