José Jerí supervises the area affected by the fire in Pamplona Alta

For the second consecutive day, President José Jerí went to the area affected by the fire that devastated dozens of homes in Pamplona Alta, district of San Juan de Miraflores.

The president arrived accompanied by the General Commander of the National Police, Óscar Arriola; the Chinese ambassador, Song Yang; Congresswoman Ana Zegarra and representatives of the Municipality of San Juan de Miraflores.

During his tour of the Virgen del Buen Pazo sports complex, where the affected families are currently housed, Jerí supervised the tents installed for their protection, inspected the portable toilets and the food warehouse, in addition to personally delivering humanitarian aid.

The neighbors took advantage of the visit to thank the support received, but also request greater security and more resources to meet basic needs that have not yet been covered.

Meanwhile, the Public Ministry reported that preliminary proceedings have already begun to determine the causes of the incident. The Corporate Criminal Prosecutor’s Office of San Juan de Miraflores, headed by provincial prosecutor Iris Alvarado Cuestas, carried out a technical-criminal inspection in the area and verified the material damage.

It was confirmed that, despite the magnitude of the fire, no human losses were recorded.
